Part 1. Overall Mobile Phone Market in China

May domestic mobile phone shipments reached 37.4million units, down 25.5 percent year over year. 127 new models were released in the month, up 8.5 percent year over year.

YTD domestic mobile phone shipments reached 196.8million units and YTD number of new model release reached468,down5.9 percent and 25.1percent year over year, respectively.

Part 2.Development of 4G Mobile Phones

May domestic 4G mobile phone shipments were35.5million units, down 24.9percent year over year, and represented 94.9percent of the total shipments. 104new 4G models were released in the month, up 2.0 percent year over year, accounting for 81.9percent of the total new models this month.

YTD domestic 4G mobile phone shipments were 188.6 million units, down 2.5percent year over year, and represented 94.8percent of the total shipments. YTD number of new model release reached384, down 27.1 percent year over year, accounting for 82.1 percent of the total new model release.

Out of the total 4G mobile phone shipments this month, 83.2 percent of which were all networks supported, and95.4%, 98.9%,95.2%, 83.4% of the 4G mobile phones shipped supported FDD LTE, TD-SCDMA, WCDMA, cdma2000 network, respectively.

Part 3.Local and MNC Brands of Mobile Phones

May mobile phone shipments by the local brands reached 34.2million units, down 24.7percent year over year, accounting for 91.6 percent of the domestic mobile phone shipments. Number of new models released by the local brands(120 units)increased by 7.1 percent year over year, and represented 94.5percent of the total number of new model release in the month.

YTD mobile phone shipments by the local brands reached177.7million units, down 3.6percent year over year, and accounted for 90.3 percent of the domestic mobile phone shipments. Number of new models released by the local brands (442 units) decreased by 26.0 percent year over year,and represented94.4 percent of the total number of new model release in the domestic market.

Part 4.Development of Smart Phones

May smart phone shipments were35.4million units,down 25.3 percent year over year, and accounted for 94.7percent of the domestic mobile phone shipments in the month.Of the total smartphone shipments,29.6 million units were Android-based.

YTD smart phone shipments were186.1million units, down 3.5percent year over year, and represented 94.6percent of the YTD domestic mobile phone shipments. Of the total smart phone shipments,153.6million units were Android-based.

In May, 97 new smart phone models were released, including 77Android smart phones. Number of new smart phones released in the month was down 5.8 percent year over year, and accounted for 76.4 percent of the number of new release.

YTD number of new model release reached 372, including 276Android smart phones,down 29.9 percent year over year, and represented 79.5 percent of the YTD total number of new model release.
